Borrowing privileges are extended to all University of Michigan faculty, staff and students according to established University Library policy. Unbound journals circulate for one day, bound journals for three days and monographs for three weeks.
In general, items on permanent reserve circulate for one day. Most course reserve items circulate for two hours during the day or overnight if charged out after 4 p.m. Reference and rare book cage items to not circulate.

Museums Library books and journals are housed in 10 distinct locations. Records of the holdings for all divisions of the Museums Library appear in Mirlyn and in the Card Catalog (holdings through 1988) in Room 2500 of the Museums Building
All materials are cataloged and shelved according to the Library of Congress classification system. You will need the complete call number and divisional location to obtain items. Divisional locations appear in the Location/Holdings section of most Mirlyn records.
Newly received current journals are kept for one week on the wooden shelving next to the card catalog in Room 2500. Unbound journals may be in one of several locations:
Bound journals are shelved by call number in Room 2500 or the appropriate divisional library. To determine the call number or divisional shelving location for a particular title, check Mirlyn or the card catalog.
