The Special Collections Library occupies the entire seventh floor of the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library as well as the Papyrology Room on the eighth floor. One passes through an exhibit area immediately adjacent to the elevator lobby to enter the Reading Room. Collections are housed in closed stacks at either end of the floor with environmental controls for temperature and humidity. Material paged from the collections may be used only in the Reading Room.

Monday-Friday: 10 am-5 pm
Saturday: 10 am-noon
Sunday: Closed

Note: Some materials from the Special Collection Library are stored off-site and are only available by prior request. If you are coming from a distance, please let us know one week in advance which materials you plan to use.

During holiday periods and intersessions hours are reduced. Researchers and visitors are advised to write or call ahead.
